Shadow Secretary of State for Wales raises concerns about Deposit Return Scheme 

Shadow Secretary of State for Wales Mims Davies MP raised the decision to include glass in Wales’ Deposit Return Scheme in Welsh Questions.  
 
As she makes clear, Wales is set to be the only part of the UK taking this approach. That divergence risks creating a significant new trade barrier, making the whole UK less competitive and deterring crucial investment.  
 
Businesses of all sizes have been clear from day one that a successful Deposit Return Scheme must be interoperable between the nations of the UK. The UK Internal Markets Act was put in place to ensure frictionless trade across the Union. This is now in jeopardy.
