New polling from the UK Spirits Alliance shows that women and millennials choosing spirits on a night out.

To aid the sector, the UK Spirits Alliance has written to Chancellor Sajid Javid asking him to fix excise duty before reforming it.

They called on him to “celebrate the global thirst for British drinks, backing jobs, growth and UK success by fixing spirits duty”.

Spirit duty has increased from £21.35 per litre of pure alcohol in 2008 to £28.74 in 2019.
